Has anyone ever called you a geek? Or do you consider yourself to be a geek? If so, then the ubergeeks community is just for you!
This community is a place for geek solidarity. Our mission is nothing short of Total World Domination. Topics of discussion will tend to focus on things that matter to geeks: geek literature, geek movies, geek TV, gaming, comics, science, science fiction, fantasy, astronomy, math, history, psychology, sociology, linguistics, etymology, weird links, Internet culture, geek websites, weird news, fanfic, famous geeks, technical support, and just about any other subject that is generally of interest to geeks. In short, ubergeeks is Geek Central.
#3 Trolling, spamming, flaming and irrelevant posts are discouraged. (Feel free to post about conventions, but keep it to one pre-con anvertisment per con)
Violators will be warned or banned at the sole discretion of the moderators.
As well as the three rules above, here are some posting guidelines:
While we're not a tech community, our members know more than the average person. "Code 421" posts are welcome, although we may not be able to help you as much as the various technology-specific communities.
Feel free to post geeky photos, art and icons. For the benefit of the bandwidth impaired, please post images in an LJ-cut2, you can include a smaller preview outside the cut. For icons, post the first 2 or 3 as a preview and the rest under the cut.
Please post anything of a spoilerish nature under an LJ-cut2. Even if it's last week's episode of Heroes or whatever - not all shows air at the same time everywhere.
If you're not sure if something's appropriate, check out the previous posts and see if there's something similar (and if so, your post will probably be OK). The community memories page has links to a lot of posts in various categories.
