Secretary of State Marco Rubio waded into the surprisingly fraught politics of typefaces on Tuesday with an order halting the State Department’s official use of Calibri, reversing a 2023 Biden-era directive that Mr. Rubio called a “wasteful” sop to diversity.

Amsterdam Typography has published 1500 historical photos with lettering and typography from Amsterdam. It was made possible by the digital image bank of the Amsterdam City Archives, practical support from the city archives’ staff, and additional permission from the heirs of some of the photographers.
