Our History

The Texas Immigration Council was founded in 2023 after a advisory group of 14 nonprofit leaders and grant makers came together and recognized that there was a missing element in the state’s immigrant justice ecosystem: a nonpartisan Center that could serve as a statewide base to make new, expert resources available to legal service providers and for coordinating public policy work.

The Texas Immigration Law Council exists to protect and promote the rights of immigrants and refugees of all nationalities in Texas.
