NIST is not subtle about the timeline. Quantum-vulnerable algorithms deprecated by 2030, and disallowed by 2035. The migration mandate already in force. Most of crypto acts like 2035 is far away. By the time they catch up to us, the answer will be clear.

Most retrofit plans mean a second signature type living next to the old one. The old keys stay exposed. The old coins stay vulnerable. Soqucoin never inherited that problem, because there were no old keys at our genesis. One scheme, ML-DSA-44, from block one.

You can change a chain's front door. You cannot change its foundation. Wallets, fees, address formats all upgrade fine. The signature scheme baked into consensus at block zero does not. A quantum-safe chain has to start quantum-safe.
