Anyway this is the result screen showing the amount of every item in the game. This shot was taken from the test screen so be aware, there is NO WAY to get an all 0 screen in the actual game, take in this freak of gaming for a minute if you wish.

Well I need to do some event cleaning and touch-ups but I am very close to releasing a FULLY PLAYABLE version of Palin’s Drome.

Not an April Fools Joke BTW.

 

In case anyone’s wondering you can clear the game with as low as 49% and you get 3% for each mirajewel you grab, 1% for each trial you clear and 1% for clearing the game.

Back to work

Hey… long story short, my laptop got stolen, and my back up drive.

WHO THE HELL STEALS A BACKUP DRIVE?!

I mean, heroes sometimes steal them from supervillains to ruin their plans…

Nah.

Anyway… I got the laptop (and drive) back, then all hell broke loose in this house.

ALL HELL.

So it’s been very hard to find time to work on Palin’s Drome. Thankfully however I managed to find time to work on it the other day and have almost finished drafting the final level. At this point work is still incredibly slow but at least it’s moving.

Also over the past few months I’ve been running some FATE RPGs with other autistic people. They are a very good activity for people with autism… as long as those people can do basic addition and subtraction and read and write. You’d think I wouldn’t have to say that but it still amazes me what gaps people in their late teens and early adulthood can have in their education. Not everyone with Autism is a genius, I am, but not everyone.

Ad Palins Drome 04

Thanks to some incredible persistence on this day I finally managed to upload that annoying final file. No one even uses the Mac version, I have analytics, I can tell.

Anyway this is the last update before the long awaited by no one version 1.0 and introduces the Crimson Armoury HUB area and the 3 crimson trials. Completing these puzzle trials will increase your maximum health.

Only 1 level remains to build, and I hope to have it done some time in January.

Remember When I Could Just Sit Down and Create?

Remember when I could just sit down and create? Because I barely can. These past few weeks afternoons and evenings have either been intense or crowded, I’ve only had time to finish 1 level since my laptop was fixed and I don’t know when I’m going to get another good chance to develop my game.

Plus I missed Weirder Stuff 2.

Seriously… I made the most original game last year and this year I missed it because my laptop was getting repaired.

I’m still hoping I can maybe finish this game by Christmas, but if things don’t turn around soon, even that may be hoping for to much.

Cold Castle Error

While working on the new HUB area in Palin’s Drome, I found a big but easily fixed error in the western part of Cold Castle. The Power Blocks, DON’T WORK… AT ALL.

Apparently while copying modified global events I overwrote the power block event group. So I had to redesign it from scratch as the power blocks feature heavily in the new area. Thankfully it didn’t take the long to fix. Due to this the next update may come sooner than I originally planned.

At Long Last Version 0.2

So great news, the latest update for Palin’s Drome is ready. The playstyle system is new and will allow new players to choose between 3 alternate playstyles at the start of the game.

Jam: With the original settings
Zen: Rejection rate is slowed down but no replacement charms will appear
Tense: Rejection rate is slowed down slightly but all safe mirrors are replaced with replacement charms.

Two new elements have been added to the HUD for glinting shards and the unlockable emerald time bar.

And of course three new areas are now accessible.
