School's out and today (after I am done with getting the rest of the way signed out) I will have the longest amount of time before I have to go back to work! I can't believe I taught summer school last year. While the money is nice, I'm so excited I get a full two months this summer! :D
Yesterday was a weird and chaotic last day of school. But also not terrible. Just weird and chaotic, like I said lol. Busy taking pictures, with Britt, boys, and Ana in the morning, the dumpster was full for recycling so I was managing that and I missed Jackson, Spencer, and Ana walk by where I normally stand and I was sad about it. Then I got more sad about it later cause I realized Jackson and Ana won't walk by next year, just Spencer T__T
I was trying to get some things done in the 30 mins before my first class and I found out they are closing and refurbishing all of Carousel of Progress on July 6th and I am devastated, so I was reading into that, feeling my emotions, panicked and cried a little.
Classes weren't too bad, I had Jackson's class and that was a nice time. My 5th graders made it very hard for me to miss them, lol. They were being so hyper and annoying and way too much. So I was like byyyyyyyyyyyyyyyye.
( Read more...Collapse )My Birb self-care app has a fun challenge this month where all of the prompts have to do with music and I thought it would be fun to record what I chose/did for each prompt!
* Listen to an album from start to finish — Project Hail Mary soundtrack
* Add 3 new songs to a playlist you love — I added Rainbows by Dennis Wilson, Stargazer by Neil Diamond, and Two of Us by the Beatles to my Oldies but Goodies songs (they all were used in the movie Project Hail Mary)
*Send a song to someone you're thinking about — Saturn by Sleeping at Last to Brittany
* Name a song you wish you could hear again for the first time — Test Drive by John Powell
* Sing in the Shower — just sang along to a few songs while I showered one night
* Listen to a genre different from your usual — country, I made a playlist called Twang Twang
* Find a song from the year you were born — 1985 (lots of great songs!) Take On Me, Careless Whisper, Everybody Wants to Rule the World, Wake Me Up Before You Go, We Built this City, Don't You (Forget about Me), Summer of 69, and Raspberry Beret.

Thankfully we can get it fixed, it's just costing $1k so that sucks of course, but at least it's not totaled. Just another bill to pay.
*intermission*
Whoa, okay so I got called to the cafeteria and I just won a free 3 night cruise!!! O____O
All my flabbers are gasted! Well, there's always a silver lining right!!?? lmao wow I don't even have words, I can't believe I won! Like really, wow!
I cannot wait for my summer break, I am so done. And I guess school hasn't even been that bad, it's just that I get to take one (major) thing off my to do list. I get a lot more time to see to other things and have some relaxation time, decompression, and a break from all of the social interaction and overstimulation. It's just been so much.
I didn't get to sleep until midnight even though I was so tired and ready for bed at 10:00. And then Pascal woke me up at 5:40 and I never really fell back to sleep, just rested. So yay me. I don't feel too bad but not great, and I bet tomorrow will be worse. Which sucks, I am trying to feel better and get more rested/healthy, not throwing my body into a spiral. Uuuuugggggggggggghhhhh and it's all because we are stuck living with other people. I am so BEYOND over it. I don't know how much more of this I can take.
*Make a playlist that tells the story of your week. This was a challenge from my Birb self care app. I am posting all of the challenge prompts when they're complete, but since this is for the story of my week, this week, I wanted to post it here as well as why I chose each song! I also made it an actual playlist on Spotify.

( Read more...Collapse )I finally got brave and shared Saturn by Sleeping at Last with Brittany this morning and it was soooooooooo worth it. My only regret is overthinking and not sharing sooner. But I NEEDED someone to feel the same things and it completely and utterly destroy them the way it destroys me each time I listen to it. And it DID mwa ahahahaha!
Her first text was "immediately no" lmao she was crying as soon as she heard the violin solo and she had looked up the lyrics before she started listening. I got lots of "effs you's" and "i hate you" and "i wish i would have waited to put on my mascara" and a photo of her tear-streaked face XD
I should have trusted that she was emotionally deep and intelligent enough for it to be so poignant to her like it is for me. It makes me so happy. I just have never heard another song like it. It's so heartachingly beautiful. And of course she thought of Nana, and pulled out a photo of her and THEN she thought of Jesus! She went through the same process I did! Clever girl.
So that's all, I had a great time destroying her this morning before work and I am so thrilled about it. Also, tomorrow is her birthday and we're going to the beach! Yay! Tomorrow our job is just beach!
Books I read for the month of April!
A Tempest of Tea (marked as DNF, I made it 1/2 through)
Shipwrecked
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (audiobook)
Life's Too Short
~*Almost Done*~
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (audiobook)
Two Twisted Crowns
Kids have been driving me nuts this week. Man it's been a tough week for student behavior. I think they have been extra nuts. Thus, my icon I chose for this post. Also, I am about to lose my magic so my temper is flaring easily. I lost it at least once each day this week. And had a little breakdown Monday after work. It was cathartic though and I felt better afterwards. Ugh.
So Nathan and I started rewatching Host Club again the other day. It's so fun. I'm glad he likes that anime and that I still love it all these years later. It's so hilarious how much my opinion has changed on anime. I was an otaku and so insane about anime in high school. Now I can recognize how cringey it can be and definitely have steered away. I think high school Lindsey would be shocked and appalled! lmao
I do however, still love my favorites. Glad Host Club has held up all these years! It's so hilarious. I think because it's meant to be poking fun at anime and the shoujo ai genre even though it IS the genre. It's so satirical and breaks the fourth wall and doesn't take itself seriously at all.
Anyway, today is Killian's 15th birthday and we're all going to Sushi Masa for dinner as a family. I am very much looking forward to it. And it's teacher appreciation week and I got a yummy ice cream sundae at lunch and Britt and the boys gave me a great little goody box of treats this morning! ^__^
Currently having to sit here while a second grader does her test and she literally took almost 30 minutes on one question. This is going to take a while *facepalm*
So I finished listening to the cast recording audiobook of the Chamber of Secrets this morning and started the Prisoner of Azkaban. I really am enjoying these audiobook versions! It's so fun to listen and experience my favorite books in a new way. They're different yet so familiar. I like a lot of the voices for the characters too. Dr. House being Dumbledore might be my favorite lol. Although Kit Harrington as Lockhart was fabulous as well. He was just perfect.
I finished one book I was struggling through, Shipwrecked, and quiet A Tempest of Tea after a month and a half. Yesterday afternoon I started reading a romcom, Life's Too Short and I love it already. Omg just what I needed. I missed enjoying and getting into a book right away, and looking forward to reading it.
