Some of the Sci-Fi styles are modeled after popular sci-fi shows and movies. Unlike the props with indecipherable meaning or function, you can now make the styles have real-world functionality. Strangely, making them work is the only way to parody how the sci-fi designers thought future displays would look while being impossible to use.
