Privacy Policy #

This policy applies to pages that explicitly link to it and are hosted on one of the following domains or any of their subdomains: traumweh.dev, lyx.sh, lyxs.de, chaos-nah.sh and chaos-nah.de. Contactmethods regarding privacyinquiries are listed here. The gist of this policy is that this website does not track anyone and only stores a small amount of data for very short periods of time.

Collected Information #

The server temporarily stores access and error logs. These logs include IP addresses, user-agents and the headers of incoming requests. IP-addresses are anonymized by masking the first 24 bits of each IPv4 address and the first 64 bits of each IPv6 address. User-agents and headers are stored unmodified. The logs are purged daily at midnight CET (UTC+1) or CEST (UTC+2).

The information collected will be used to detect DoS attacks, troubleshoot server errors and create IP or domain blocks when deemed necessary. The data is only stored on this server and will never be shared with any third party.

Forgejo #

The self-hosted Forgejo instance uses session cookies. These are only used to identify the login state and do not contain any personal information. Additional information is stored for accounts on Forgejo, but manual registration is disabled. Registered users receive a copy of a customized privacy policy that doesn’t apply to unregistered site visitors.

Synapse #

The self-hosted Synapse instance uses session cookies. These are only used to identify the login state and do not contain any personal information. Additional information is stored for accounts on Forgejo, but manual registration is disabled. Registered users receive a copy of a customized privacy policy that doesn’t apply to unregistered site visitors.

Because Matrix is a federated protocol, transmitted data might be shared with other servers in the ecosystem. Messages and data such as profile pictures or display names, which are shared into a matrix room, will be shared with other servers participating in the same room. Therefore, they are also automatically processed and stored by them. Conversely, messages written by users on this server in a room are also forwarded to all servers participating in that same room.

Other matrix servers may be stationed in other countries, meaning they may fall under a different jurisdiction. A server can therefore not always be liable for another federated server. Because other matrix servers are beyond control of this server, requests regarding the deletion of personal data can only be guaranteed for this server. The matrix protocol is designed to automatically forward such requests to other participating servers, but it is up to them to comply.

Email #

Email accounts that are hosted on one of the aforementioned domains store messages sent to them indefinitely. This includes metadata stored in email headers, such as transit information as well as hostnames and IP addresses of transit hosts, recipients and senders. A deletion request for email messages that were either sent by you or were addressed to you require concrete proof of ownership of the sender or recipient email address, as well as the full message id.
