Our role
The Health Department’s Assessment, Evaluation, and Epidemiology (AEE) team provides data and analysis to help plan equitable, evidence-based strategies to protect and improve the health of all people and places in Pierce County.
Our work
AEE oversees and maintains public health surveillance systems that monitor health conditions, behaviors, and outcomes across Pierce County. We integrate data from multiple sources including local, state, and federal systems to provide timely, accurate, and actionable information. We apply best practices in data governance, privacy protection, and data suppression to ensure responsible use of public health data.
