LOS ANGELES – Farrah Fawcett, the "Charlie's Angels" star whose feathered blond hair and dazzling smile made her one of the biggest sex symbols of the 1970s, died Thursday after battling cancer. She was 62.
I remember her in Charlie's Angels. She was the one Angel my father had a crush on. I also remember her in the shaving cream commercials. When her claim to fame was that she was married to Lee Majors.

10:18 am - Is Chivalry Dead?
<td width="115" valign="top" align="center"> </td> Send Love Greetings! <td width="15"> </td><td valign="top"> </td>Is Chivalry Dead?
That's the question Adrian has been asking everyone who has ears to listen and a voice to reply. Adrian, who’s still on a mission to set his love life straight, has been doing all the right things when he dates Cathy. He's opening doors for her, pushing her chair and stuff. But this extra bit of attention got on Cathy's nerve. Cathy turned on her heels as they were about to enter a mall and Adrian reached out to hold the door open. Her patience snapped, "Just stop it Adrian! Come on, be your normal self. I'm tired of your chivalry!"
Adrian realized he was overdoing things to impress her. This bit of uncharacteristic effort was drawing him out as well. So he grabbed this chance with both hands and dumped his pseudo romantic act. Relieved, he walked straight in and let go of the door, oblivious to Cathy's presence. The door banged down on Cathy’s nose, doing more damage to his love life than Cathy's nose! Last heard, Cathy was not taking his calls. Going the Rick-Kaitlin way, aren't they?

05:53 pm - The Gay Men's Chorus of Washington (GMCW) will perform
This is a very important update from GMCW. Please help us to spread the word far and wide as we now have permission from HBO to unleash some important details!
Please forgive the formal tone of the information below. I have provided it for you in a format that facilitate posting it. I wish everyone a wonderful Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend and a safe and memorable inaugural celebration.
This Sunday, January 18th from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, The Gay Men's Chorus of Washington (GMCW) will perform what will, without a doubt, be a triumphant and historic arrangement of "My Country 'Tis of Thee" with Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Josh Groban and Tony Award-winner Heather Headley.
Some remarks from Jeff Buhrman, Artistic Director:
“We take immense symbolic satisfaction that we will sing at the Lincoln Memorial, where so many others have spoken and sung to achieve equality. In 1939 the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) refused permission for Marian Anderson to sing to an integrated audience in Constitution Hall. Thousands of DAR members, including first Lady Eleanor Roosevelt, resigned from the organization. This led to a concert on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial by Ms.. Anderson on Easter Sunday in 1939. She opened the concert with a stirring rendition of “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” to a crowd of more than 75,000 of all colors and a national radio audience of millions. The Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington’s inclusion in the inaugural opening ceremonies singing “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” is another significant historic moment that will put a face and give a voice to gay equality. As President-Elect Obama begins his presidency, we move closer to a time when the dream of equality for all is fulfilled.”
Don't miss out!
Watch or DVR a broadcast of the performance on HBO the same day (7:00 pm-9:00 pm ET/PT, live at 2:30 pm). HBO is FREE for this historic event, check your cable listings.

12:32 pm - Doors
What is it with Doors today. Both the ones on my staircase at home and the one at the office isn't working correctly. The one on the staircase was suppose to be fixed last week but the management claimed they got the wrong part. The Management has removed the whole door and the door frame. There is even chunks taken out of the bricks.
BS was 219 this morning and 91 at lunch. Maybe along with the added new med, working out with the trainer is helping. I did 2 laps on the Middle school track last night and jumped rope for a bit.
I've given up on NutraSystem. It wasn't doing what I wanted it to do. My BS were still high. 1200 cal / day with food that is bland is not what I want to eat.
This retraining muscles stuff is for the birds.
11 days till I leave.

06:53 am - Cheer up and New Friends, New Beginnings Day
| Cheer Up Day [Jul 11] After that really expensive evening at that fancy restaurant, I made up my mind that I wouldn’t see Leo for a while. Of course, like always when I make up my mind to do something, the opposite usually happens. And the worse thing is, I couldn’t control the circumstances. |
|
| New Friendships, New Beginnings We had a really pleasant trip out to the Cape. To our surprise Irina was able to join us on the beach after all! But when I saw her, I thought, who was that guy in a black sweat shirt beside her? He was about 6 and half feet tall, with strong, sturdy shoulders. His eyes had a penetrating glance, as if he can read the thoughts that you'd rather hide from him. They came up to me and Irina bubbled with enthusiasm and introduced him: "This is Richard! I told you about him?" |
