One of my greatest teachers has been the privilege of working in all aspects of hospice as a social worker. I carry a passion for being with people honoring rites of passage, transitions, suffering, loss and rebirth, and more. I have shared Touch Drawing in a variety of ways including: caregivers, people with dementia, hospice, dances of Universal Peace, elders, people in crisis and stellar moments. Currently, I’m inviting space and collaboration for what seems to be arising in areas of peace, grief, community healing, ritual and resiliency. I’d love to connect to talk about collaboration or opportunities.
This is my experience of Touch Drawing: She welcomes me to my deepest love, joy, longing, broken, discarded, remembered, unknown, forgotten, and treasured places. Always there to hold me, see me, know me, discover, recover, and invite me to return again and again and embrace (me). In this deepest vulnerable raw space within, I touch the beauty, the love, the treasured, the unwanted, the exiled, the other, and together we draw towards the wholeness and holiness, the belonging and the one.
I have a practice where I write titles of all my Touch Drawings after each session (historically, titles have not been accessible to me). Stringing them together they provide a poem of my journey. The following poem of Touch Drawings were done in honor of the Spirit of Touch Drawing and seem to reflect the essence of this amazing gift:
Trust the roots and the depth
I feel held, I feel seen, all of me, all of you
Finding connection from my soul to the sacred soul of souls
Tender openings through the hands brings access to the sacred Temple within
Hear the stories through my hands, heal the ancestors (pain), bring us near to one and the other
The witness sings to the vessel of potentiality and new growth
The Beloved holds the portal open for love to rise and always return
May blessing and wisdom, buoyancy and joy rise above lines of division and separation
