- You can now detach the color picker in the editor and place a compact variant of it anywhere on your canvas which stays open while you work with other tools.
- If you accidentally tap to dismiss the share options after an export has finished without saving the file, ToonSquid will now ask you whether you would like to see the share options again, rather than immediately discarding the already exported file.
- Flipping the canvas now flips it around the center of the visible region of the canvas on the screen so that whatever was previously in focus remains in focus.
- The "X" close button in the top right corner of the export screen has been replaced with a "Cancel" button next to the "Export" button.
- Various other bug fixes. 2.0.20 Feb 13 * Fixed a regression from the previous update causing brushes to leave temporary marks on the screen while smudging vectors.
* Improved the video playback behaviour to avoid video clips visibly popping in.
* Reduced the likelihood of accidental brush strokes when trying to pinch to zoom the canvas while finger drawing is enabled.
* Fixed certain cases that caused exported PSDs not to open correctly in Photoshop.
* If a project gets corrupted for whatever reason, instead of disappearing from the project library, it will now continue to show up as a placeholder with options to try to restore it from a backup file, export the corrupted project file for inspection or delete it. 2.0.19 Feb 9 * Added a "Stroke" effect.
* Added new keyboard shortcuts (canvas zoom, canvas flip, changing brush size & strength, toggling guides, opening panels etc.).

* Replaced the default iPadOS button hover effect with a less disruptive scaling effect.
* Fixed potential freezes when drawing or erasing with very large vector shape brush sizes.
* Fixed custom fonts that are installed via the iPad settings app to show up in the typeface selection dropdown.
* Various other bug fixes. 2.0.18 Jan 29 This update contains an overhaul of the fill tool for pixel layers with lots of new powerful settings you can use to achieve the perfect fill in all situations.
- Added an "Expand" setting for expanding the edge of the fill region to get rid of all gaps regardless of the fill threshold.
- Added blend modes for how the fill region should combine with the existing layer.
- "Automatic" makes the best choice depending on whether you are filling an empty or non-empty region.
- "In Front" and "Behind" let you make the choice manually.
- "Erase" lets you erase regions using the fill tool.
- Added an "Anti-Aliasing" setting to control whether you want the edge of the fill region to be hard and pixelated or smooth.
- Added a "Blur" setting with which the fill region can be blurred to achieve nice transitions into soft boundaries.
- Added a "Smart Recolor" setting for using the fill tool to change the color of an existing painted region without changing its opacity.
- The old "Smooth Edges" setting has been removed in favor of the new settings which are more powerful and flexible.
- Adding a new group layer while having multiple layers selected automatically moves the selected layers into the new group.
- Fixed the auto fill brushes to respect selection regions. 2.0.17 12/20/2025 - The editor will now show the context of a symbol layer in the background when editing a symbol's animation clip.
- Added "Last Created" and "Kind" to the sorting options of the project library.
- Added "Kind" to the sort options of the asset library within a project.
- When splitting drawings, the keyframe offsets of all drawing layers are now updated to retain their previous timing rather than just being duplicated.
- Added a "Clear" option to the actions menu for selected drawings and animation layers. You can use this to delete the drawing layers while keeping the drawing structure intact.
- When you try to fill an open vector region that consists of stroked paths, ToonSquid will now temporarily highlight the paths to help visualize where the remaining gaps are. 2.0.16 12/13/2025 - Added a "Custom" easing curve
- Added Grid, Isometric, Rectangle, Ellipse drawing guides
- Added One-point, Two-point and Three-point Perspective drawing guides

- Static PSDs
- Animated PSDs using the frame timeline
- Animated PSDs using the video timeline
- Pixel layers
- Editable text layers
- Shape layers (vectors)

- And more…
- You can now export your project in the PSD file format. Different export modes let you choose between exporting a single frame of your animation as a layered PSD, exporting the entire animation as an animated PSD with a "frame timeline" or a "video timeline", or exporting a sequence of layered PSD files - one for each frame of your animation. Supported PSD features include:
- Pixel layers
- Editable text layers
- Exporting vector layers and path layers as editable shape layers
- Group layers
- Exporting symbol layers and animation clips as smart objects
- And more…
- Use the new "Import Images as Symbols" setting to control whether imported images should be inserted as a symbol layer or as a pixel layer in the timeline.
- Use the new "Insert Images Into Existing Drawing" setting to control whether adding an image to the timeline should always create a new animation layer or not.
- You can now use the "Separate Layers" drawing menu action to convert all drawing layers of a drawing into separate animation layers in the timeline.
- Fixed the "Linear Light" blend mode to work correctly under all circumstances.

- Improved vector fill performance when working with lots of vector stroke brush strokes.
- Fixed video playback performance issues.
- Various bug fixes 2.0.6 03/12/2025 - Bug fixes 2.0.5 02/25/2025 This update reintroduces the vector layer from ToonSquid 1 as the default drawing destination for vector brushes instead of always creating vector groups. It also disables the automatic vector group creation when adding path layers via the path tool or the shape library by default.
Vector groups continue to be a powerful feature in ToonSquid 2.0 and you can choose to opt in to only working with vector groups in the ToonSquid settings by changing the "General > Vector Workflow Preference" setting to "Vector Group" and by enabling the "Tools > Path > Create Vector Groups" setting.
You can now also choose to manually convert any vector layer to a vector group in order to access, edit and potentially animate the individual shapes inside, and you can convert vector groups to vector layers if you prefer to work with a singular layer instead of a group. Tap the vector layer / vector group and choose "Create Vector Group" / "Create Vector Layer".
If you had previously opened an older project from ToonSquid 1 in ToonSquid 2 which had converted all of your vector layers to vector groups, you can convert all of them back into vector layers at once by following these steps:
1. Open the project.
2. Tap on "Actions" at the top.
3. Tap on "Settings".
4. Select the "Info" tab on the left.
5. Scroll down and select "Convert Vector Groups to Vector Layers". 2.0.4 02/21/2025 Changes in 2.0.3:
