The program that originally occupied this timeslot, A Life and Dumb Shit That Happens in It, has not been renewed for another season due to low ratings and poor testing group comments ("Not noticeably more enjoyable than reading Mein Kampf while being set on fire"; "Didn't get the part with the dog at all"; "I puked in my mouth a little, then a lot--am mailing you dry-cleaning receipt for reimbursement"; "Two years ago the lead actress mugged me outside The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf"; see also "Producer assaults testing group, blames amphetamine binge", Variety, January 17th).
Repeats of Our Mother is a Bivalve! will be the midseason replacement until Cannibal Congressman returns in September, with the addition of Jake Busey as new antagonist Marcus Cadwallader and a guest appearance by Eva Longoria as recurring love interest Belle Hempstead-De la Cruz.
