10:05 pm - Gay character in Archie Having grown up reading Archie, I had to read the comic where there would be a gay kid, Kevin Keller, coming to Riverdale.
I have to say, it was quite out of character of Jughead to be vengeful and mean-spirited. I mean, I have seen him portrayed as being vengeful, but he usually has his head on his shoulders, except when it comes to food. And Kevin? I think he was too pretty, if there is such a thing. I mean, you can see for yourself.
And if you're not familiar with the comics, Jughead doesn't like girls. In the past, he has had 4 girlfriends though. But it seems like that in this particular issue, they're kind of hinting that Jughead is gay.
There's a scene where Veronica sees Kevin giving Jughead a box of chocolates. She gets totally bummed and says that she can't believe she lost a guy to Jughead instead of "Oh god, Jughead is gay!" It's like she's expecting him to be gay since he's not with women. But throughout the comic Kevin remarks that he's hitting it off with Jughead. It seems platonic on this level but I wonder, though unlikely, if Jughead might come out. Who knows?
I did enjoy reading it. I am interested in seeing how they will develop the Kevin character and his relationship with the rest of the gang.

07:38 am - PAX Woot. I am going to the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) in Seattle today.
I was so disappointed that they announced that tickets were sold out earlier this week. But then last night, they unexpectedly opened up more ticket slots so I went ahead and grabbed one.
Anyway, PAX is a huge gamer festival. Lots of geekery involved. lol. I plan on hitting up the Blizzard & Nintendo booths and see the panel hosted by Foxtrot cartoonist Bill Amend. And we'll see what else is there! People have had nothing but good things to say about it on Twitter.
03:21 pm - RIP Corazon Aquino [tl] Pumanaw na si Cory Aquino. [en] Cory Aquino has passed away.
Even though I was 5 years old when Marcos fell and Cory rose to power, I still have some memories of the events before and after this (especially People Power - which we used as a reference to strong body odor. LOL). I remember that they had to shut down Clark Air Base, where Marcos had fled before going to Hawai'i, for a couple days and I couldn't go to school because we lived off base.
01:45 pm - Support jameth jameth's been on my friends list for over 7 years and he's again running for the LJ's Advisory Board. He lost last year, but hopefully he'll win this year.

kaerleikurrrrrr asks in a members-only "this vietnamese girl has me in her phone as "myben" that does that mean in english???" So comment after comment asks "is your name Ben?" over and over again or some variation thereof.
The thing is, the OP is a girl. So her name isn't Ben.
I had forgotten about this entry till now and when I went to check there were 55 and I was just laughing my ass off. heh. Current Mood:silly
02:44 pm - 8 years Today is my LiveJournal's 8 birthday. Damn! That is really weird that it's been that long. A lot of you who started are still around... I use LJ a lot less because of WoW, Facebook, Twitter, and MySpace (which I'm incidentally using less too)...
For my 7th anniversary, I changed the name of this blog from "goodboi" to tisoi. I like the name. :-)
