Good Friday morning all - the first of 2022. Perhaps no quote rings with as much truth as this one: "Hindsight is 20/20". Along those lines, one of my favorite gifts that I saw this holiday season was given from my daughter Brantley, to her mother Amanda (pictured below). 😄😄 Kidding aside, the Trillion Dollar question (inflation, you know) is: how effectively do we learn from our hindsight & apply those lessons learned (be them small or big) to our journey forward? For all of business, including the global #supplychain community, I think this represents one of the biggest silver linings to the pandemic era. But will we act with band-aids or with more sustainable, longer-term solutions? In many cases, that remains to be seen. Some folks seem to be still clinging to the myopic view that once we get past the pandemic, things will return to how they were in 2018. That ship has sailed, I believe. Jeff Bezos is like black licorice. Some folks love him. Some folks hate him. But you can't argue his business intellect, #innovation, foresight & success. I love this quote of his: "𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲; 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 - - 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗮 𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗮 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱 - - 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 & 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼. 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆." 💯 🎯 Lots of timeless truth there. May your 2022 be a record-breaking, smashing success. I want this cup ....for my husband....
I agree with Brantley, moms are always right! that's their super power, alongside finding everything that's "missing" me: mom where is *x thing*? my mom: where it is supposed to be me: no it's not........Found it!
Love your Friday good news! Something I look forward to.
LOVE the Mug.... no truer words can be spoken. My good news for the week is my kitchen reno has finally ended. Woooohoooooo now onto the bedroom reno with a walk-in closet. And I secured new employment yesterday starting Feb 1. A life long friend was looking for some help and asked if I would be interested in joining their Team. Best part, it is back to where I started my Procurement and Supply Chain career 43 years ago. Be well and stay safe.
That mug reminds me - in college, I called Donna Krache to gripe about roommates not picking up after themselves. I left her a long-winded voicemail on the home answering machine that rambled about her being right. She kept that message for a long, long time. 🤣
We'd love to know WHO exactly "loves" black licorice, Scott? 😁 We also invite folks to check out Scott's recent post on the 2022 Supply Chain and Procurement Awards - learn more: https://tinyurl.com/mr4bdkjw Have a great weekend all!
