Well, I've taken the new DW payments system for a spin and it looks like it does what it says on the tin - yay! I'll be interested to see how the whole points thing gets used - I can imagine it being good for getting people to chip in for communities, or tip jars for popular accounts.

Trying to get my online life tidied up a bit - am going to try to start journalling a little bit more and I wonder if a change of scene would help that a little so I might start posting on DW and cross posting here. With that in mind I thought I'd better check on the state of play...

Are you on DW?

I know quite a lot of you on my FP have used loads of different photo hosting solutions - if anyone has a few moments to pop into DreamWidth and give them your suggestions for when they build their photo hosting system we might eventually get something that actually does everything I want (I don't think I have ever found a system which wasn't missing two or three features).

So, another LJ daughter-site is, well not born yet actually, but late enough on in it's gestation that they feel they can start telling people about it. I tend to be very skeptical of idealism in business ("Don't be evil" hasn't added up to much for Google in the long term, for example) but I actually know these people and, well, (a) they mean it (seriously, you should hear D talking about this - she is soooo excited) and (b) they're good at what they do. Really good. Of course, that's not very useful for everyone else, but yes, watching with a very great deal of interest.
