đź‘‹ Hi, I'm Tina D Purnat.

I help organizations navigate how digital society shapes health and wellbeing—and translate evidence into tools that work in your context.

For over 20 years, I've worked at the intersection of public health, data, and technology—leading initiatives at the World Health Organization, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, and with governments worldwide. I specialize in understanding how our digital information environment affects health systems, people's relationship with health information, and public health practice—then adapting global frameworks to work in your specific context, whether you're a ministry of health, an international organization, or a local health department.

My approach combines rigorous evidence with practical implementation. I don't just hand you a report—I work with you to build systems, processes, and capacity that continue working long after our engagement ends.

Currently, I'm Vice President of the Global Health section at the European Public Health Association, Associate Editor for JMIR Infodemiology and advisor to the board of Health Promotion International, and completing my Doctor of Public Health at Harvard, where my research focuses on systems change and how health systems can better capture and use workforce and community insights.

Emergency Preparedness and Resilience

Building trustworthy emergency response systems that center community insights and strengthen resilience. This includes participatory early warning, risk communication and community engagement (RCCE), infodemic management, and cross-sector coordination that builds trust during crises.

Digital Health Transformation and Trustworthy AI

Modernizing how public health uses technology—from designing surveillance systems to evaluating AI-based medical devices and building trustworthy AI standards while ensuring ethical implementation.

Community-Centered Systems Design and Participatory Research

Using participatory methods to ensure health systems actually respond to community needs and frontline insights, whether in routine operations or emergency response.

Evidence Translation and Localization

Turning global guidance and research into practical tools and processes that work in local settings, adapting international frameworks to specific contexts.

Capacity Building and Systems Change

Empowering health workers and their partners through innovative training, participatory design, and systems-level approaches that create lasting change and resilient health systems.
