I’m a software engineer, with an interest in operating systems, particularly in how they’re assembled – both the nitty gritty stuff, Makefiles, build systems, and the improvements to engineering-efficiency that a good build system provides, as well as the organisational work you must do in the background. Code is less than a half of the work of a good engineering org, and having people on staff who’ve discovered that by experience is a fantastic asset.
For more about why I’m recently blogging here, see https://timsfoster.wordpress.com/2021/06/30/the-joyent-years-2018-2021
Before working at Joyent, I spent a significant amount of my career at Sun (and Oracle, after it acquired Sun) culminating in my being appointed kernel tech lead for Solaris, then eventually leaving the company. I ought to also point out that the views expressed on this blog are my own and do not necessarily reflect the views of Joyent, Samsung or Oracle.
Right now, I’m living in Inch, Co. Down (Northern Ireland), and have lived in Wellington (New Zealand) and Dublin (Ireland) in the past. My brain spends a lot of its time in the Bay Area, which probably results in my accent being a bit weird.

I have a LinkedIn profile too.

I’m a Solaris developer. You’re probably best off contacting your support rep. about specific support you’re looking for. More at http://www.oracle.com/nz/index.html

Thanks Adam, I do have experience developing CAT tools, but I’m not in that line of work any longer.
