FAQs

The simplest way to become a member is by completing our application form. The requirements for membership will vary between what kind of membership pathway is available to you.

Designers, such as architects and engineers, are able to join in minutes – using the above form. Educators, such as universities and colleges, can also join rapidly with a legitimate ‘ac.uk’ email address.

For some member pathways, such as Supply, there are additional steps – particularly if you are importing timber, to ensure you are a responsible supplier and prepared to commit to our standards.

Membership of Timber Development UK is all-inclusive. One membership for your organisation entitles you to all benefits, including individual member accounts for every staff member, giving you access to all documents in our Timber Knowledge Library, enrolment into Wood Campus courses, discounts or free tickets to member events, and much more.

Students and educators are able to create a free account with Timber Development UK. This gives access to an extended library of resources. Institutes are also able to join as members, giving an extended list of benefits, including the ability to monitor their students access to resources, progress through courses, and assistance to integrate learning assets.

The cost of membership will vary based on your membership pathway, and will be either a fixed fee, or based on the size of your business. This is set by our Board, and is designed to provide access which is reflective of the benefits to which you will enjoy.

For small architect and engineer practices, membership can be as low as £210 + VAT per year. The best way to see what membership will cost for you and your business, is by completing the above application form.

All memberships with Timber Development UK are annual, for a period of 12 months from when the bill is paid. For larger members, please note there are monthly direct debit options available, which you can discuss with our team.

You can renew your membership up to three months before from your profile, or set it up to automatically renew via direct debit. All other members will be contacted annually with their invoice for the following 12 month period. Please note failure to pay this invoice on time may result in your account being suspended and access terminated.

Access to key programmes and courses on Wood Campus is provided free of charge to you and your staff. This includes our flagship programmes, such as The Essentials of Timber Supply and all related modules. There may be additional costs for access to customised content or services.

Our smallest tier of membership is designed to be available to all – including sole traders or individuals with a key interest in the timber supply chain. If you are unable to join at this rate, do still create a Subscriber account for access to free content, and get in touch for individualised quotes for our products.
