FIGWIT!

3rd. Dec. 2007 | 09:36 am

Hi all, long time! Not sure how many of you know about this because it hasn't been advertised particularly well - and pardon me but I meant to post about it ages ago - but! Check this out:

http://byteme.net.au/even05.html

It's the Australian premiere screening of "Frodo Is Great, Who Is That??! ", a documentary on online fandom, and it's on TONIGHT 6.30pm at the Perth Town Hall. Stan Alley, filmaker, will be there to introduce and answer questions etc.

I am so there. Would love to see any of you there too.

I just don't like the new emails from YourTV, I'm afraid. They're just not as easy to read, I get distracted by the colours and layout.

Just to let you know, if I suddenly drop off the end of the LJ earth, it's probably because I'm pissed at LJ policy.

If you know me, you probably know my email address and can keep in touch if you like. Otherwise, adios!

By way of girliejones:

you are
thistle

#D8BFD8

Your dominant hues are red and blue. You're
confident and like showing people new ideas. You play well with others
and can be very influential if you want to be.

Your
saturation level is very low - you have better things to do than jump
headfirst into every little project. You make sure your actions are
going to really accomplish something before you start because you hate
wasting energy making everyone else think you're
working.

Your outlook on life is bright. You see
good things in situations where others may not be able to, and it
frustrates you to see them get down on
everything.

Classic Dame

By way of girliejones

Barbara Stanwyck

You scored 38% grit, 38% wit, 23% flair, and 16% class!

You're a tough dame, a bit of a spitfire, and you can even be a little
dangerous, but you do it with such flair that almost all is forgiven
(and even when it's not, you're still the most interesting woman in the
room). You can be witty and charming, all right, but you have a tough
streak that keeps you focused and sometimes deadly. You've had quite a
climb to get where you are, but you're a hard worker and you mostly
deserve all you get...and then some. You might end up destroying
everything around you, but you must admit...you've got style. Your
leading men include Henry Fonda, Fred MacMurray, and when you forget
yourself, Gary Cooper.

Outrage! The TV stations are doing the whole dragging-out-the-episodes thing again. I'm not liking this new trend. You'd think they'd wise up seeing as it's so easy for people to download stuff from the net.

You know, I really don't mind watching ads so much during tv shows. Fair enough, I get the free content, gotta sit through ads to enjoy it, don't want to put anyone out of a job and all that.

But they really do need to show us a bit more respect than what they're currently doing.

The Mullet

26th. Jun. 2005 | 10:30 pm

The definitive site for all things mullet-related is, apparently, MulletJunky.com. The golden mullet ratio is 1:3. That is, the back must be three times longer than the top (technically, any other part of the head).

According to the site, this is not a mullet.

These, however, are definitely mullets. And just in case you want to see a female mullet, or "femullet", you'll probably want to check this out. Do so at your own risk!

And there you have it. The important thing here, is that I can rest assured that I don't have one.

Seeing postings of pictures of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys on Usenet makes me want to watch that again, too. Damn.
Far too much to do and watch. At this rate, I'll never catch up to my brain. *sigh*

In other news, when does a mullet become a mullet? I'm sure there must be some ratio of short-at-the-top:long-at-the-back, and I want to know what it is. I might try googling for it.

ETA: Have moved the lolly jar. Aside from a brief bout of separation anxiety, all went well.

You'll probably be the first one to die anyway
Determined Survivor
Methodical, calm,
focussed. All the traits Mother Nature was
thinking of when she earmarked a species for
survival. You look before you leap, but you
don't hesitate too long. You'll probably be the
first one to die anyway as someone else panics
and dooms you both. The universe, and movie
cliche, is ironic that way. Still, chin up!
