We'd love to hear from you. 2.0.47 12/04/2025 Fix for people stuck entering their name. 2.0.45 11/24/2025 This is an all new version of Tichu built from the ground up using a modern platform independent gaming engine. The original, best in class AI engine has been painstakingly updated and ported to a new platform independent implementation. Along the way it has been improved. The original 2010 version had five distinct difficulty settings but, due to processing limitations, the "best" difficulty setting needed to cheat by giving it exact knowledge of which cards were held by each player. (This was never a secret. I went to great pains NOT to hide this fact.) This new version does not cheat! Processors have improved to the point that I was able to create a "best" difficulty setting that is good enough to outplay the "better" setting 2 out of 3 times, all other things being equal. With the original version, I used to recommend that human players not choose the "best" setting for their partner because its perfect knowledge would sometimes encourage it to make unexpected choices. This is no longer necessary. Go ahead and choose "best" for your partner if you want. I won't promise it will always make the choices you expect, but I can promise it will be a better experience than it would have been with the original version. I have made a few other changes to the game's presentation in order to modernize the experience and make it more accessible. Settings have been simplified a bit. A clear distinction has been made between multiplayer and single player games. Save slots have been eliminated in order to streamline and simplify the experience. AI settings can no longer be changed in the middle of a game but the benefit is that it's now much easier to manage game settings and there is less opportunity for players to subtly manipulate rankings (read "cheat"). I've also added an option to ban bombing out of turn, which speeds up game play by removing the need to wait for potential bombs at the end of a trick. Hopefully you will be as excited by all of these changes as I am. Now you can enjoy playing Tichu on almost any computer or device you like! Steve Blanding
