BREAKING NEWS: Thanks to whoever bought me the custom userhead: theuserabides. I love it! ...I really hope you stick your head in here and see this. ♥

Contact, crit, links, that kind of thing. Anon is on but IP logging is also on. It cuts way down on shenanigans (mostly because LJers seem to have no idea how IP addresses actually work.)

Contact info behind a cut for less searchabilityCollapse )

[When Flynn moved after a thousand cycles of waiting, he did so decisively. Quorra had snatched Sam off the Game Grid while Flynn and a not-entirely-willing Zuse were doing a little underhanded work...and now Clu's forces were chasing off on a false trail into the Outlands rather than toward the Portal.

One could almost think things were peaceful again as the Solar Sailer cruised through the darkness on its power beam toward the distant Portal. Below, the Sea of Simulation glimmered in its light, so much dimmer than the sun, yet still the brightest thing on the Grid.

Flynn leaned against the railing, looking down into the poisoned waters where all the heartache had started.

Greetings, program--User. Welcome to the Grid.

This is the background and plot info for the Tron section of the SHODAN plot. Our subplot is three-pronged:

-Grid Games
-Team Hax/Rescue Mission
-Virus

We'd love victimsvolunteers for all three!

Grid GamesCollapse )

Team Hax/Rescue MissionCollapse )

VirusCollapse )

And that, my darlings, is what the Tron cast will be up to during the SHODAN plot. Won't you join us?

Questions, comments, concerns? If I can't answer them, I'll put you in touch with the castmember who can, or go to the mods. ♥

Would one of you be willing to take a worldhop over to my end?

If so, I have a favor to ask.

OOC: They can't get through, because it would derail canon and I don't want to do that. Yet. >_>

Turns out when you're the Creator, you can get the End of Line Club for a private party on short notice. Zuse is hosting, Guy and Thomas are DJing, and all the best programs are there--with the exception of Tron, who's been called away to an emergency the Outlands, and Clu, who doesn't approve of the company his user keeps.

DDDers, still riding the high from the light cycle battle, have been coached in the genteel lie that they're "experimental programs," and turned loose on the club. This is probably not a great idea on Flynn's part, but he can repair any damage they manage to do...right?

OOC: Tag around! I will tag everyone with Flynn, but you should mingle!

For the record the pink team won, 3 out of 5 rounds. ...Yes, pink. Nena whined until Flynn changed the color of her circuitry.

It was never night in the system, since nights need days to separate them, but it was always dark, save for circuit glow and the bolts of lighting that sometimes rent the eternal clouds. Flynn was the only one who knew another, brighter sky, but he had never seen the relentless gloom as sinister until after his exile had begun. Many things that had never seemed sinister before had taken on threatening overtones then, not the least of which had been his own face. While he'd let the cycles solve that problem, others seemed less susceptible to patience. Still, time had to be on someone's side. Flynn just wasn't certain whose. As an exercise in optimism, he chose to believe it was his.

Speaking of time, he'd just spent a great deal of it staring across the Outlands at the City, an unproductive exercise if ever there was one. If he didn't go in soon of his own accord, Quorra would be out to drag him off the balcony and away from his memories, yet he couldn't bring himself to turn away. Even though the City too was now fraught with menace, it was still so beautiful. Distance (or perhaps wishful thinking) smoothed away the flaws, leaving in their absence only perfection.

Birkin, here you go:

<solitaire.c>

You'll need a C compiler.

[Though the post is addressed to Birkin, it's not locked and the file is available for anyone to download. It's small, only a few hundred bytes, and when compiled...it's a solitaire program. Yes, the card game. Yes, the card game you get free with Windows.

The code's very elegant, though.

Flynn is from Tron: Legacy, which is still in theaters. He is spoilery. If you'd like me to avoid tagging you, please let me know here!

Sometimes, you have what seems like a great idea, and then you realize what you've done to yourself.

That'd be me and the themed keywords for this account.

Because Flynn is quite obviously practicing from one of the Zen schools, and because I have a much easier time with Japanese phonetics than Chinese, where the Japanese versions of Chinese names exist, I've used them. Un-Japanified names are Taoists.

Hōkoji ⟷ Layman Pang
Reiun ⟷ Lingyun Zhiqin
Rinzai ⟷ Linji
Ummon ⟷ Yunmen Wenyan
Yoka Genkaku ⟷ Yongjia Xuanjue

It's all or nothing with cuts and tables, I'm afraid.Collapse )
