I don’t believe in paywalls. Nor do I think the answer to “support independent work” is “receive more email.” Instead, I want to make something real.
My creative work sits in that awkward space—too big for a hobby, too small for a full-time job. Your support bridges that gap, helping me focus on the work instead of chasing freelance gigs or engagement metrics.
My goals are simple:
1. Write, Podcast, & Explore More Ideas – Whether it’s writing on the blog, making Permanently Moved, or Experience.Computer, this is the work I’d be doing anyway.
2. Make & Mail Physical Things – Every subscriber gets a zine in the post four times a year. A tangible artefact, a break from the algorithmic churn.
3. Maintain Creative Independence – No ads, no sponsors, no chasing engagement metrics. Just direct support for work that matters.

What Your Support Means
- Makes this work sustainable—reducing friction, increasing focus.
- Funds tangible things—not endless content churn.
- It lets me send you real things, outside of cyberspace.
Your support allows me to focus, worry less about money, and keep making and sharing ideas—and in return, I send you something real.
If this sounds like something you’d like to be part of, thank you.

Start Select Reset Zine 📑
In addition to supporting and maintaining the archive of my public creative work, all paid supporters receive a handmade zine posted via snail mail 4 times a year!
✨ What Comes Next
Since 2018, I’ve made a short audio essay every week—301 seconds long. But in 2025, that project comes to an end. I’ll hit episode 301 and complete the series.
What comes next is something new.
I hope to enter a new phase of my creative practice—moving away from the weekly rhythms and content grind toward slower, deeper work.
Bigger episodes, printed zines, more complete creative objects.
🛠 Where Your Support Will Go
I have some things I need to immediately invest in to get to next phase:
- Buy a laser printer for folded zines
- Laser cut stamps
- Invest in Logic Pro and soundscape plugins
- Cover increasing production costs and tools
- Spend real time making richer, more meaningful work
🎙 Radio Essays & Printed Zines
The next iteration of Permanently Moved will pair long form audio with printed material. Think of it as liner notes for radio—each major episode accompanied by a beautifully produced physical zine.
This new format will be:
- 20–40 minutes long
- Equivalent to a 6,000–20,000-word essay
- Rich in sound design and higher production quality
- Released a few times a year, when they’re ready
Each major release will come with:
- A properly printed zine (nice card, staples, paper stock)
- Expanded scripts, interviews, design elements, and extras
- Some issues will also be available to buy as limited back issues within the print run.
- Shorter audio/zine releases will continue in the current double-sided folded format—but those will remain exclusive to subscribers.
- Subscribers get everything.
🫂 What You Make Possible
Supporting this work means:
- Helping build a sustainable practice that doesn’t chase algorithms
- Enabling the production of ambitious creative artefacts in audio and print
- Making media that’s slow, weird, thoughtful—and totally independent
If you’ve ever listened to an episode, read a post, or held a zine in your hands: thank you. You’re part of this.
