Totally agree. By the time you reach Mechanics level 5 at the most, the hood should open immediately. -
I wrote two books that are based around Project Zomboid and the headcanon for my sandbox settings I've tuned over the years. I don't want to give any spoilers but I use the zomboid timeline and some of my own deep lore to form the world. Beyond that, the characters and story are original. I feel like I'm in a place i can call them finished. At least until I drum up the motivation to go through for more revisions and edits. I just posted book 2 today. They are slow burn literary horror novels, but I took a different spin on a lot ideas. It's probably not what you're expecting. Add randomized mini-stories to towns like Rosewood. Generate connected notes/letters/paperwork as special loot that spawn across linked spots (police station, school, houses, courthouse, etc.). Example: “Inappropriate teacher” scandal – police report at station, details at school, victim/perp/witness notes in random houses. Turns normal looting into discoverable subplots about people’s everyday lives. -

My items disappeared right after a force close. At first, I was trying to move my stuff from the blue van to the black van. All the items had already been transferred. When I was about to load the second generator into the black van, the game suddenly force closed. When I got back into the game, my items were gone. The items that were originally inside the black van—after I had taken them out—somehow appeared again, so they became duplicated: one on the ground and one still inside the van. But all the items from the blue van completely disappeared.
