The Gnome is a powerful practice and rehearsal tool. The Gnome provides process-oriented features that help strengthen your internal pulse, refine your sense of rhythmic feel, and build technique. You can also use The Gnome to build click tracks with flexible meter representation, full tempo automation, and scalable playback speed. - The simple Home Screen provides easy access to the most basic Gnome functions. If you just need a basic metronome, you’ll find it here. - The intuitive, DAW-like Mixer screen includes four channels that can each be assigned to a different rhythmic rate (subdivision), making it a snap to subdivide a beat, or generate polyrhythms. - The intermittent clicks feature allows The Gnome to play for a number of counts, and then rest in silence for a number of counts. You can also easily alternate back and forth between two Gnome channels, making it extremely easy to practice switching between two different rhythmic subdivisions (triplets to sixteenths, for instance). - The Sound Set Editor allows you to assign each of the four channels one or more of the over 250 sounds from the built-in Sound Library, or any sound file(s) you share to the app. You can even generate your own customized beep sounds with assignable frequency, waveform, and simple envelope settings (fade-in, length, fade-out). The sonic possibilities of The Gnome are virtually limitless. - The Pattern Editor is a simple yet powerful step sequencer that allows each channel of The Gnome to play rhythmic patterns. There are 32 patterns available to each of the four Gnome channels, and each 'step' of a pattern can be assigned to a specific sound in that channel's Sound Set, as well as its own dynamic level. - The Pattern Sequencer allows you to combine a channel’s 32 patterns in any order you wish. The “Global Pattern Sequencer” on Channel 1 allows for the creation of full click tracks with automated and fully scalable tempo changes, and is capable of triggering patterns on the other channels through the “Pattern Link” feature. The Pattern Sequencer is designed to be usable in individual practice as well as ensemble rehearsals. - The innovative Groove Editor allows you to define precise rhythmic feels by altering the proportions of the subdivisions within a beat. Add a touch of shuffle to a rhythm, explore rhythmic feels from around the world, or use the Groove Editor as a springboard for rhythmic experimentation. - The fun and unique Timing Gauge uses the microphone to assess the user's rhythmic accuracy, providing realtime visual and statistical feedback on your rhythmic tendencies. Quick calibration and customizable settings ensure accurate and meaningful readings. - The Tempo Ramp provides simple tempo and time automation. In Continuous Mode, you can gradually speed up toward a 'peak' tempo, hold that tempo for a specified length of time (measured in either seconds, or beats) and then slow back down to the starting tempo. In Stair Step mode, The Gnome will hold the specified tempo for the specified amount of time (again, measured in seconds or beats) and then increment toward a goal tempo or time. - It is easy to save and organize Gnome Preset files, so any settings you wish can be recalled with one tap. Create a series of practice routines, settings for different exercises or pieces, or even create presets for your students. Presets can be shared very easily. The Gnome also features an audio export function, making it possible to generate .m4a or .wav files of the app’s audio output. - The Gnome features a built-in contextual help system, providing instant access to full documentation simply by swiping inward from the left side of the screen. The help system always provides documentation for the screen you are currently viewing, so you can always learn more about any feature of the app on-demand. The Gnome is a powerful, practical, and creative app that that will become your go-to rhythmic practice tool.

Updated At: 2024-11-11
Changes: Nov 11, 2024 Version 1.3.5 The Gnome is now more powerful and flexible than ever! Major highlights include: - Global Sequence block tempo options now include "Set + Change," which combines an immediate tempo change and a gradual tempo change in one block. - The Audio Export function now supports easily exporting Global Sequences. - It is now possible to share entire folders of audio files, presets, etc. to or from the app. - User Sounds can now be embedded into Sound Set files in the same way that they can be embedded in Preset files. - You can now specify the extraction location of embedded sounds when you create an embedded preset or sound set. - Active User Sounds can now be quickly consolidated into a User Sounds folder. - If sound files cannot be located when loading a preset, the missing sounds are now listed as "Missing" in the sound set editor and are rendered as simple beep sounds. - Missing sounds can be restored through the "Restore" option in the leading swipe menu of the Sound Set Editor. - The 'Convert to Groove' operation in the Pattern Editor now takes into account any step rate changes present in the pattern. - Flash Delay now takes into account sample alignment when calculating the delay amount, except when using the Delay Compensation value as the flash delay. - Various parts of the app are now more performant, and documentation has been updated.
The Gnome version 1.3.4
Updated At: 2024-09-19
Changes: Sep 19, 2024 Version 1.3.4 Version 1.3.4 makes it even easier to create full click tracks in The Gnome! Note: Version 1.3.4 is a minor update to the recently released Version 1.3.3, which fixes an issue that prevented some buttons from correctly responding to user interaction in iOS 18. - Global Sequence Blocks now have an editable "Number" property, making it possible to assign repeated and non-consecutive numbers to each sequence entry. This makes it possible for block numbers to directly correspond to measure numbers in a piece, even when the piece includes repeats, D.S. al Coda, etc. - Similar sequence blocks can now be collapsed in to one another, or expanded out from one another, through the collapse and expand options in the leading swipe menu of the sequence editor. - Sequence Settings now includes "Collapse All" and "Expand All" buttons that quickly collapse or expand all possible blocks within the global sequence. - You can now tap and hold on the Sequence Settings (gear) button in the Global Sequencer to enable / disable Speed Increment. - Fixed a bug that caused Loop Reps to be incorrectly reported on the Sequence Settings screen. - Groove Link now applies groove changes to all four channels, regardless of their current Rate assignment. - Documentation has been updated to reflect the recent changes.

The Gnome version 1.3.1
Updated At: 2024-08-16
Changes: Aug 16, 2024 Version 1.3.1 Version 1.3 is a major update to The Gnome that brings a whole new level of power and functionality to an already powerful practice tool! - Pattern steps now feature a "Change Rate" setting that allows a channel's rate to be changed by the patterns themselves. - Pattern steps also have a "Line Break" property that allows you to organize the pattern steps more intuitively. - Each channel has 32 grooves automatically stored, which are recalled when the channel's rate is changed either by the user, or by the patterns. - Each of the 32 grooves now saves its own "Amount" property independently of the channel. - Each channel now has 32 patterns that can be edited independently. - Each channel features a Pattern Sequencer that allows for arbitrary ordering and repetition of each of the channel's 32 patterns. - The Channel 1 Pattern Sequencer acts as a "Global Sequencer," allowing immediate or gradual tempo changes, as well as tempo scaling and speed automation. - Sequence blocks can include labels, and can be marked as Start or Loop blocks, and in the case of Channel 1, also Stop blocks. You can also assign countoff patterns to blocks independently of the countoff channel's selected pattern. - You can also link patterns in channels 2-4 to sequence blocks on channel 1, allowing you to trigger specific events across all four channels from the "Global Sequencer". - The Ramp Pause button now completely freezes the state of the metronome and ramp, rather than only halting the ramp's progress. - It is now possible to embed User Sounds in Gnome Presets, making it easier than ever to share data from one copy of The Gnome to another. - Master Volume is now a persistent property. - "Flash Delay" can now be enabled or disabled from the Master Mixer strip. - Many other bug fixes, UI tweaks, and documentation updates. Note: Version 1.3.1 is a small update to the recently released version 1.3.0 that addresses some layout issues.
