Board-Certified Internal Medicine | Metabolic Health & Physician-Guided Weight Loss

I am a board-certified internal medicine physician with more than 15 years of experience caring for patients in both hospital and telemedicine settings. For over a decade working in hospital medicine, I witnessed firsthand the consequences of chronic disease—patients repeatedly hospitalized due to complications of obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and metabolic syndrome.

These experiences shaped how I view modern medicine.

Much of healthcare today focuses on treating the late complications of metabolic dysfunction, rather than addressing the underlying drivers early.

During medical school and residency, physicians receive extensive training in diagnosing disease, managing acute illness, and performing procedures. However, the deeper metabolic and lifestyle factors that drive chronic disease—nutrition, insulin resistance, hormonal signaling, sleep, and environmental influences—often receive surprisingly little attention during formal medical education.

Over time, this became personal for me.

At one point in my own life, my BMI reached 30.1, placing me in the obesity category, dealing with early hypertension and increasing my risk for diabetes, and cardiovascular disease—conditions that also run in my family. Rather than accepting that trajectory, I began studying metabolic physiology, nutrition science, hormonal regulation, and the environmental and lifestyle factors that influence weight and long-term health—topics that are often only briefly addressed during medical school and residency training.

Through research, clinical experience, and my own lifestyle changes, I gained a deeper understanding of how metabolic dysfunction develops—and how it can often be improved or reversed when addressed early.

This experience reshaped the focus of my medical practice.

Today I focus on metabolic health, physician-guided weight loss, and preventive medicine, combining evidence-based lifestyle interventions with modern therapies such as GLP-1–based medications when appropriate.

My approach emphasizes:

• Identifying the root drivers of weight gain and metabolic dysfunction
• Careful patient selection and safe medication titration
• Sustainable lifestyle changes that support long-term health
• Physician oversight and individualized care—not automated prescribing

I founded Text2MD to provide a more direct, physician-led model of care. Through virtual visits, I work closely with patients across multiple U.S. states who are looking for thoughtful medical guidance on weight management, metabolic health, and long-term disease prevention.

My goal is simple: help patients understand their metabolism, improve their health, and reduce their long-term risk for chronic disease.

I believe the future of medicine lies not only in treating illness—but in understanding metabolism, lifestyle, and physiology early enough to prevent chronic disease and help people live longer, healthier lives with fewer hospitalizations and medical interventions.

Why I Built Text2MD

  • After years practicing internal medicine, I saw how difficult it had become for patients to access thoughtful, personalized medical care.

  • Too often visits are rushed, communication is limited, and the system focuses on treating disease only after it develops.

  • Many metabolic and lifestyle drivers of chronic disease are overlooked in traditional care models.

  • I created Text2MD to offer a simpler approach: direct physician access, clear communication, and care focused on metabolic health and long-term prevention.

  • No middlemen. No unnecessary barriers. Just real care from a board-certified physician.
