TestRS232 (En) is a lightweight utility for verifying and troubleshooting RS‑232 serial connections. It helps technicians, engineers, and hobbyists open a COM port, configure communication parameters, and send or monitor data in real time—ideal for diagnosing cable issues, validating device firmware, or running loopback tests.

Key features:

  • Quick scan and selection of available COM/serial ports
  • Configurable baud rate, data bits, parity, stop bits, and flow control
  • Send and receive data in ASCII or hexadecimal views
  • Loopback and manual transmit tests for fast diagnostics
  • Optional logging with timestamps for documentation and analysis
  • Status display of modem/control lines (RTS/CTS, DTR/DSR, DCD, RI) when supported by your adapter
  • Works with built‑in RS‑232 ports, add‑in cards, and most USB‑to‑serial adapters

Typical workflow:

  • Connect your RS‑232 device or loopback plug
  • Select the correct COM port and matching serial settings
  • Open the port, transmit test data, and monitor responses
  • Save logs as needed for troubleshooting or reports

Notes:

  • This is the English-language edition
  • Requires a computer with access to an RS‑232 interface (native or via USB‑to‑serial)
