So to begin with, I have to say that this mix is pure indulgence for me, filled with my own favorite blend of indie-folk-pop. It's also a hell of a lot longer than I usually like my fanmixes to be. I'm going to blame the amazing length and depth of the story for that, because I couldn't bring myself to cut it down to a smaller, more reasonable track number.

Moving on, this is a fanmix for the amazing story, Near Misses, a lengthy and gorgeous Glee fanfiction where Kurt and Blaine did not meet in high school, but instead run into each other while in college in New York City. In no way does that do the story justice, but I think you should probably just go read it instead.

I can not say enough good about Near Misses. flaming_muse is a stunning author, and I highly recommend anything she's written, but this story in particular is my absolute favorite piece of Glee fanfiction, no contest. I tried to follow the overall flow of the story, so some songs reference specific events, whereas others stretch whole chapters. (I honestly have a word document where I've matched quotes from various chapters with lyrics from all the songs. If anyone's interested, I'll gladly post it, but it seemed obsessive and unnecessary, so for now I'm leaving it out, in an attempt to appear less crazy. It's now posted over here for your viewing pleasure!) Hopefully it's enjoyable! I love feedback almost as much as I love making fanmixes for things. <3

DAY SEVEN: I AM STILL SICK.

It is pretty much NOT AWESOME AT ALL. I have been spending my holiday IN BED. I think someone is trying to DRILL THOUGH MY SCULL, on both the left and right sides of my BRAIN.



DID I MENTION I WAS SICK?? DID I?

Anyway, that is all. I am probably going to go watch Merlin, because I don't have to pay attention to it to know what's going on, and that is about all my mucus infected brain can handle right now. SO THERE.

So I figured out that I'm working between 53.5 and 57.5 hours a week. AHAHA, it is not even remotely funny. I had last Thursday and this Monday off, and for the last five weeks that has been it, and that will be it until three to four weeks from now, when this insanity finally ends. ONE WAY OR ANOTHER, YOU WILL BE MINE! No, wait, hang on, that's from Lion King. Sorry.

Seriously, this is RIDICULOUS. I mean, it's worth it, because, hello, museum? I just sent in my letter to them, so hopefully they will hire me full-time or at the very least permanent part-time, and then I can quit the stupid spa. Here are some things I hate about working at the spa:
- I have to wake up at 4:30 in the morning.
- I have to go to bed between 8 and 9 pm, so I can wake up at 4:30 in the morning.
- I have to get to work at 5:30, which means I have to wake up at 4:30 in the morning.
- The radio is always tuned to the "Idiotic Pop-Remix Station: Now With 50% more Jonas Brothers!"
- I have to wear black. (This, coming from some who likes black, is difficult to do 5 days a week. IN SUMMER. HOT HOT SUMMER.)
- My chair is uncomfortable.
This is to say nothing of the fact that there is not being a goddamn manager, which is stupid, or that my boss clearly does not know how to run a business. It is completely ridiculous.

Basically, despite the free lunch, I can not wait to quit working at the spa. The museum is fabulous, even on days when I'm in the coat room. I love it so much, it's so exciting. And I get to wake up at normal hours, wear color, and there is no trashy music! Not to mention that people notice when I do or don't do a good job, so there is incentive for me to succeed, and everyone on the manager level deals with manager level things in a professional manner, which means I don't have to worry about it. And did I mention the fun and fabulous co-workers? I am sold. (PS - DID I MENTION THAT I AM PRETTY MUCH DROOLING OVER THIS JOB?? AND THAT I AM ACTUALLY QUITE GOOD AT IT?? YEAH.)


Anyway, that's what's up. On the other hand, I just deposited over 1,400 dollars into my account from all my summer paychecks so far. Did I mention I'm going shopping tomorrow?

PS - OH MY GOD THIS SONG, I LOVE THIS SONG. See, if they played this remix, I would be like, "Damn that is awesome!" But nnnoooo, they play really shitty remixes on an endless loop.
