Every day, individuals quietly shape their communities through courage, dedication, kindness, and imagination. Their stories may not always make headlines, yet their ideas have the power to transform the world. We believe these voices deserve to be seen, heard, and shared.
This belief brings us to the island of Roatán in the Caribbean.
Roatán is a living mosaic of cultures, histories, and traditions. Here, different nations, languages, and ways of life meet and coexist. We approach this diversity with deep respect—honoring the island’s original inhabitants and their heritage, while also celebrating those who have come to Roatán and continue to enrich it with their work, wisdom, and generosity.
We call this living diversity the Island Mosaic.
Our organizing team reflects the same spirit. Led by Henrieta (Henika) Holúbeková, we are an international and hybrid team composed of people from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds. Just like the island itself, our team is a mosaic—shaped by different perspectives, experiences, and stories, united by a shared belief in the power of ideas.
Together, we are exploring a new way of organizing a TEDx conference—a hybrid collaboration across borders. By bringing together local voices and global perspectives, we hope not only to create a meaningful TEDx experience on Roatán, but also to contribute to a new model for organizing international, hybrid conferences in the future.
Because when diverse voices come together with curiosity, respect, and courage, something remarkable happens:
