About

My name is Brett Hinton. I’m a software tester, somewhat new to the profession, coming from the education field where I had been a teacher and educational technology trainer and director for about 10 years. Though it represents a fairly significant career change for me, I’m finding it challenge and rewarding and I am learning every day. I have found many of the skills I taught and encouraged as an educator are serving me well as I apply them to being a software tester.Β I find my software testing community to be full of great ideas and discussion and I try to learn from them and apply good practices for my context every day.

I live in a suburb of Salt Lake City, Utah with my wife and six kids and enjoy gardening, playing sports and learning about interesting things. I never lack for a good book to read or a “Pocket”-ful of blog articles to read about (many of them about software testing).

I’m pretty active on twitter at http://twitter.com/hintbw or you can also connect with me on LinkedIn at https://www.linkedin.com/in/hintbw.

    • Thanks for the encouragement Rosie! I added my name and some details about my Twitter account and LinkedIn account, though I tend to be most active on twitter. I love the work you do with the Ministry of Testing, TestBash and the Dojo. One day I hope to get to a TestBash!
