Teca Hacks is an online, submission-based hackathon open to students of all skill levels. Participants can work individually or with a team to create any project they’re excited about, and everything is self-paced and remote. Submissions are accepted until January 12th at midnight, giving builders the freedom to develop and refine their ideas on their own schedule.

What makes Teca Hacks unique is its focus on creativity, accessibility, and real industry evaluation. All projects are judged by software engineers from companies like Tesla, Amazon, and Honda, and winners are selected for categories including Best UI/Creativity, Best AI/ML, Best Solo Build, and overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards. With thousands of dollars in prizes, participation gifts, and a professional judging panel, Teca Hacks is Manteca's largest hackathon and gives students a high-impact opportunity to ship something meaningful and end the year with a standout achievement.

Requirements

Participants must submit a completed project through Devpost before the deadline on January 12th at midnight. Submissions should include a working project, a short written description explaining what the project does, and the problem it solves. A GitHub link or code file must be provided to show how the project was built. A demo video is recommended so judges can clearly understand the functionality and design of the project. Teams should also list the technologies used, the challenges they faced, and what they learned throughout the process. Projects may be built individually or with a team, and previously completed work is not allowed; all submissions must be created during the hackathon timeframe.
