Recovery
Our methodology emphasizes recovery as an active, daily process.
We are intentional about selecting methods for recovery, just as we are intentional about selecting methods for stress. We individualize our recovery protocols specific to each athlete and their needs. This allows our athletes to train at the highest levels and promotes optimal adaptations from training.
Infrared sauna
An infrared sauna is a modern wellness therapy recovery modality that uses gentle infrared light waves to heat the body directly, rather than warming the surrounding air like a traditional sauna. This deep, penetrating heat helps raise core body temperature at lower, more comfortable settings, promoting a natural sweat that supports detoxification, improved circulation, and muscle recovery.
Research suggests that regular infrared sauna sessions may help reduce inflammation, improve skin tone, support immune function, and aid in post-workout recovery. Because infrared saunas operate at lower temperatures, they are often more accessible and comfortable for beginners while still delivering powerful wellness benefits. Whether used for relaxation, recovery, or overall health optimization, infrared sauna therapy is becoming a popular choice for those seeking a natural way to improve well-being.
cold tub
Whole body submersion in cold water (42 degrees) in our Icepod Plus can reduce core body temperature sufficiently and induce a powerful cold stress response. Cold stress elicits vasoconstriction, temporarily reducing blood flow to submerged, peripheral tissues, resulting in increased peripheral blood flow after normal body temperature is restored.
These benefits include:
- Decreases in inflammation
- Increase in norepinephrine
- Increases in Cold Shock Proteins
- Stimulates a reset of the Autonomic Nervous System
The cold tub can also be used in tandem with the sauna, termed “contrast therapy”, to increase the cold and heat stress responses associated with cold and heat therapies.
Laser Therapy
Class IV laser therapy is an advanced, non-invasive treatment that uses high-power therapeutic laser light to penetrate into tissues, stimulating cellular repair and accelerating the body’s natural healing process. Also known as high-intensity laser therapy (HILT) or deep tissue laser therapy, this technology increases blood flow, reduces inflammation, and promotes pain relief by enhancing mitochondrial activity and tissue regeneration at the source of injury. Class IV laser therapy is commonly used to treat chronic pain, arthritis, sports injuries, neuropathy, back and neck pain, tendonitis, and soft tissue damage without the need for medication or surgery. Patients often experience faster recovery times, improved mobility, and long-lasting relief through this safe, FDA-cleared modality.
Normatec Compression Boots
The Normatec compression boots combine dynamic air compression with a pulse massage pattern that mimics the muscle pump of the legs and arms.
These benefits of compression include:
- Promotes lymphatic flushing
- Reducing swelling and inflammation
- Enhancing blood flow and speeding up the recovery process
