Level Up Your Team Architecture: Real Skills Have Arrived 🍊

Last Update há 2 meses

To help you manage this, we are introducing a major logic update to the teamdecoder framework: The Real Skills List.
Why this matters for your team:
Until January 2026, we treated skills and roles similarly. But in a high-performance hybrid team, they are distinct:
- Skills (The new Orange List 🍊): These are the individual "superpowers" your players possess (e.g., Python Coding, Strategic Negotiation or Photoshop).
- Roles: these are the functional "hats" people wear to deliver value.
The result? You can now see exactly which players are qualified for specific roles and, more importantly, identify the skill gaps holding your strategy back.
What is changing in your Dashboard:
- A New Orange List 🍊: You’ll see the "Skills" list appear. Use it to define capabilities and assign them to your players.
- Roles Evolution: To keep your existing data safe, your previous "Skills" list is now Roles 1, and your "Roles" list is Roles 2.
- Total Control: If your team isn’t ready for this level of depth yet, simply click the three dots (⋮) and select "Hide List" to keep your view lightweight.
This update is a foundation for our AI Matchmaker, which suggests the best player for any role based on their skill set.
Where are the skills?
From the new orange list (🍊) you can create new skills. Every skill is managed in this skills tool:

- A skill has a name
- You can define this skill as you wish in the big "Details" field
- "Notes" will appear on the Campfire page, if the skill is tagged "Campfire", otherwise you can use this field for open questions that need to be answered
- "Owner" show your players tat have this skill. you can add players here and rate the level with which the own this skill: 1 star = beginner, 2 stars = professional, 3 stars = expert
- "Required In" shows which roles require this skill and with what rating. You can add roles right here
- Under "Documents" you can link files, like a .doc or .ppt about this skill
- "Tags" are your personal filters
- Bottom Navigation:
- copy this skill
- download the text of this skill
- delete/archicve this skills
- Comments from team members regarding this skill
- History
Inside the players tool, skills can also be created and assigned:

And inside the roles tool, skills can be added or newly created and you can define its level, requirement to own this role:

If you prefer to NOT use the skills, you can hide the lists here:

or here:

Matchmaking
The new setup allows us to find the best players for a specific role, and the best roles for a specific player.
To use matchmaking for a player click here:

And to use matchmaking for a role click here:

Clicking will open this sidepanel:

By clicking on "View breakdown" you will see:
- skills that MATCH (green)
- skills that are MISSING (red)
- skills that are lower than the required star rating = GAP (yellow)

 By clicking on "+Assign" this role will be added to the person's profile.
The same logic applies for roles:Â
- Click on "Match using AI" inside a role,Â
- and the sidepanel will show you, which people fit best based on their skills.Â
- Clicking "+Assign" will now add the chosen person as an owner to the role.
How are MATCHES calculated?
In the side panel you will see a percentage, describing how a person fits to a role or a role fits to a person.

The "formula" we are using:
- number of total stars the player has in these skills,Â
- divided by the number of total skills the role demands for these skillsÂ
- *100
green = 90-100%
yellow = 50-90%
red = below 50%
