wounds and healing
So I am mostly back to normal, post-op. Belly scar is a bit sore and I get the odd twinge from time to time, but I think all is well. Consultant discharged me at my check-up - showed me photos from the op which not only was really cool (look, it's my liver!) but also showed that the op went practically textbook perfect. So that's good to know.
I'm so fortunate to have been able to use private healthcare. I added up everything from endoscopy to gallbladder op and it's come to something like right grand. Also, the difference between my consultant and my GP is astounding - actually being talked to like an intelligent adult instead of condescended to.
I did manage to go to J's funeral, although it was a long and exhausting day. I'm glad we went and could be there for D. She'd have been pleased with it as a send-off, I think.
The week before the funeral Caelan ran at Kempton in his first race, G and D both went, and it was like J was pushing him over the line, he was green as anything but a sudden surge in speed brought him home a winner. Amazing. I cried on the sofa at home. She'd have been so proud.
