Two years. Two damn years since she decided to grow a pair and verbally kick out a guy who was not only damn near perfect, but had been head over heels for her. Great job Lewis.
She liked to think herself independent, but when push came to shove she regretted that night (though she still agreed with the reasons behind it) and would still catch herself thinking about his stupid smile, or the way he’d look at her like she was the entire world. She told Jane she’d moved on, told Thor she was sorry and done everything to push the regret and missing ache to the back of her mind…and eventually the ache began to fade.
Pulling herself out of bed Darcy pads across the cold floor of her bedroom and heads down to the kitchen to start a pot of coffee.
Glancing at the clock she snorts to herself and hustles towards the door, buttoning her pajama top and praying she can catch that cute but stupid paperboy before he gives her mail to Jane (who naturally lives across from her when not staying at Thor's) again.
