CPC Training
Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) is a qualification required by anyone wanting to drive an HGV, Bus or coach professionally.
You must have Driver CPC if you have access to HGVs, LGVs, coaches or busses for a living. As well as maintaining your CPC status by logging 35-hours of periodic training every five years.
The different types of CPC training...
What CPC Training do I Require?
There are two types of Driver CPC: initial and periodic. Driving professionally without a current licence is illegal, and you can be fined up to £1,000.00 for driving without it.
Drivers CPC Initial Qualification
The Driver Qualification Card (DQC) is a document that proves your competence as a driver. The DQC can only be issued as part of the initial Driver CPC training course, which must be completed before time on the road begins.
Periodic CPC Training
Periodic CPC training is for professional HGV drivers. Once you have obtained your Initial Driver CPC, you are required by law to maintain it by completing 35-hours of periodic training every five years.
