Unlocking the hidden potential in the soil to reduce toxic heavy metals in food

Talam Biotech is improving food safety by developing innovative natural microbial solutions that reduce the uptake and accumulation of heavy metals by food crops. Our novel microbial solutions derived from natural sources reduce heavy metal uptake by inhibiting the bioavailability of heavy metals to plants. Reducing the uptake of these toxic contaminants in crops will reduce their levels in food and improve the health of plants.

Heavy metals like arsenic (As) and cadmium (Cd) are present in the soil and taken up by crops. They occur in the environment naturally (as elements of the earth’s crust) and as a result of human activities.

Demonstrated results, driven to do more

Field and greenhouse trials for wheat, spinach, and rice are showing promising results. Product launches are anticipated in the coming years. Other crops are in earlier stages of research and development.
