I'd love to meet new people so I'll tell you something about me. Those of you who are interested to be freinds with me, just comment on the 'friends only' post. (:
Well.. My name's Laura and I'm from Germany. I love books (I'm a total addict), music, road trips and movies as well as tv shows, spending time with my friends and my family, going shopping and writing stories myself.
Every once in a while, I work on some graphics. You can find them here. hurricane_bar.
Otherwise.. I have a hard time choosing favourites but if i have to..
Tv Shows Chuck, Grey's Anatomy, The Big Bang Theory, The Vampire Diaries & White Collar.
Movies Dear John, Becoming Jane, Into The Wild, Lion King & Sweeney Todd.
Music Billy Talent, Carl Noren, Johnossi, Mando Diao & Wakey! Wakey!.
That's why I shamelessly stole this great idea from subtlynice who herself stole it from mizra. It's a list of all the books I'm looking forward to this year. I'll be crossing them off as I go along and adding new books whenever I see something that grabs my fancy. I know I'm probably not going to even get through half of them. Whatever's left over, I'll aim to read it in 2012!
Books I'm really excited about are bolded. Those I'm currently reading are put in *stars*.
These are books that I came up with of the top of my head. I'll edit this post ASAP.
So I posted this for *Books 2011* already and decided to do the same for movies.

Okay, sooo.... for my English class, I have to write a speech. And I did. Now I'd like your opinion on it. :)
"For my speech, I chose a topic that is not as popular as environmental pollution and not as much discussed as drug abuse amongst children. But it's just as important, if not more; Because saving the world will mean nothing if we don't survive to see it blossom.
Today I would like to talk to you about organ donation. Right now, there are 7651 people waiting for a kidney transplant, 933 people waiting for a new heart, 2139 people waiting for a liver tranplant, 632 people waiting for someone to donate their lungs and 34 people waiting for a pancreas transplant, not including those in need of more than one organ. And I could keep going. Not a lot, you may say, compared to the total population of almost 82 million.. But what about the people themselves? Why only care about the figures? Imagine, just for a second, that the person you love most has his name on one of those waiting lists, desperately hopeing for a miracle. Wouldn't you want that to happen? Wouldn't you do anything to let them live another day?
Every day 12 - 17 peope die whilst waiting for a transplant. They die, and their families and friends mourn their deaths. How can it be, I wonder, that we allow that to happen when it's so easy to prevent it? You go see your doctor. Fill out one form. Recieve one card. And it's done. It's that easy, saving a life. Maybe even two.
Every one has the right to say no. I cannot force you to listen and, frankly, I don't want to. But I do believe in what I said, and I pray you do the same. Because we could indeed change things. Save lifes. If we'd only listen."
I thought I'd try promoting my community once again. This banner includes some of the icons that have been submitted for the first challenge. Come join (or watch) us. --> Click on the banner. ;)
