Who’s dominating the blockchain market in luxury & fashion? Over the last three years, the blockchain market in luxury and fashion has dramatically changed. This analysis provides a macro vision of the market, shows which segments exist and how they behave, and, finally, builds fact-based predictions of where the market is going. Three major groups have evolved over the course of three years: authentication (mostly #luxury and #watchmaking companies), #supplychain transparency (mostly #fashion and #diamond manufacturers), and other use cases (payment, loyalty programs, product enhancement, etc.). Download the document here: https://lnkd.in/gsGzd-x (Erratum: page 4 and 10, VeChain is not directly collaborating with Nike but with custom sneaker manufacturer working with Nike products.) In this analysis, we look at the increasing numbers of #blockchain initiatives, but we also zoom on a couple of collaborations: - Arianee, authenticating watches with the Richemont Group, Audemars Piguet and BREITLING. - VeChain Tech collaborating with LVMH and the H&M group to guarantee fashion products’ authenticity through blockchain chips and improved supply chains. - The Auburn University’s RFID Lab collaborating with Nike, PVH Corp., Herman Kay, Kohl's’and Macy's took part in a PoC to obtain better transparency. - Tracr, one of the biggest blockchain providers in diamonds manufacturing, providing provenance, authenticity and traceability for De Beers Group, Chow Tai Fook, Signet Jewelers, and Alrosa Company Limited. We expect that there will be more collaborations at an even faster pace. Following current dynamics, more prominent brands will most probably join one of the existing clusters, and smaller brands will continue to experiment with less known players. A special thanks to Bahia Alecki (Art Director), David Dubois (INSEAD Associate Professor), Lihi Walter Keidan (Strategy Consultant & INSEAD MBA Alumni) and Michel Noujaim (Amazon Launch & INSEAD MBA Alumni). This report was done in collaboration with Julia Chinakaeva. Thanks Julia!

A very impressive and insightful report Lorien Alecki. One word of caution - Blockchain on its own is not always the solution as an important aspect is the ability to verify the information that is being entered to the ledger (ensuring its validity). a wrong information that is entered (by mistake or on purpose) will make things actually worse, as wrong information will be 'locked' forever. efforts need to be placed to validate the date and ensure its integrity.
