SVVEA is proudly affiliated with the Colorado Education Association (CEA) and the National Education Association (NEA). Together, the SVVEA–CEA–NEA form a highly democratic organization governed by its members. Our decision-making structure is designed to ensure strong representation, with members electing their colleagues to speak and act on their behalf in all Association matters.
Within SVVEA, members’ voices are heard through two elected representative bodies:
Board of Directors (BOD)
The BOD functions as the Association’s executive body. It includes four executive officers and ten at-large members elected from the general membership. The Board meets on the second Tuesday of each month.
Association Representatives (AR)
The AR Council serves as the Association’s policy-making and legislative body. It’s made up of about 70 Association Representatives elected from each school and meets on the third Tuesday of each month.
