Advancing Archaeological Research & Collections Accessibility
Since its establishment, Sustainable Archaeology McMaster has focused on materials analysis, including petrography, biogeochemical studies, zooarchaeology, and geoarchaeology. These resources help researchers investigate past landscapes, cultural traditions, and technological innovations.
Our facility also works to address Ontario’s collections crisis, ensuring legacy collections and newly excavated materials are properly curated, accessible, and cared for according to ethical research standards.
