Cooking and smelting are essential parts of survival on the island of Survius. Whether you’re preparing food or crafting advanced materials, fire is a tool you’ll rely on often.
Cooking food
IRaw meat and unboiled water are unsafe to consume. Before you eat or drink anything you gather, you’ll need to cook or purify it.
You can prepare food in two ways:
Craft a Campfire
A campfire lets you cook anywhere in the wilderness. To build one, you’ll need:
- Logs — found in log piles or gathered from trees using an axe
- Matches — found in drawers or looted from zombies
Once you have both, you can light the fire and cook your meat or boil your water.
Use a Stove Indoors
Many houses on the island contain stoves you can use for cooking. They work just like a campfire, but without needing to craft anything.
Smelting Metal
Some advanced crafting recipes require iron bars. To create them, you’ll need to smelt scrap metal.
Where to Smelt
Visit the location marked “ironsmith” on your map. This is the only place where you can smelt metal.
How to Get Scrap Metal
You can obtain scrap metal by:
- Finding it in the world
- Smelting tools that contain iron
Once smelted, scrap metal becomes iron bars, which you can use to craft stronger tools and equipment.
