There's a local radio station called BFM 89.9 that has a branding campaign that play on the letters BFM. Basically you have huge adverts like "Bankers Flee Mortgages: BFM89.9", "Bankrupt Fannie Mae: BFM 89.9" on the back of taxis and car stickers.

Today I saw a particular advert on a taxi that had me sniggering for quite a bit.

The mother-unit called today and told me that she was 'doing some cleaning up' which generally means 'I need room for my stuff so I'm throwing out yours! :D'. After the usual routine of 'THROW THAT ONE BOX OUT AND DIE' from me (and my siblings too, I bet) she mentioned that instead of throwing them out, why not just ship the box to me?

"Well, apart from the shoebox that you told me Not To Open Until Doomsday, it's just a bunch of your old books."
"Oh yeah, my old comics and books from school."
"I don't see why you still keep those comics, they're--"
"THEY'RE TINTIN AND THEY'RE COLLECTORS' ITEMS. TOUCH THEM AND DIE." (See, this is where all the sibling-units say the same thing. XD)
"What about the rest? How about the pile of mythology books?"
"Oooh ship those!"
"All right."
"...."
"Yes, we'll send the money for it tomorrow. >_>"

Anyway, a friend wanted to know if my reading interests actually changed throughout the years, so...

School:
- Icelandic sagas
- stuff about ancient Egypt
- Franco-Belgian comics (Cinebooks UK have absolutely fab releases if you're interested! And for Certain People, OMG THEY HAVE YOKO TSUNO)
- NINJAS
- Beano annuals XD

Uni:
- Yet more sagas
- stained glass art. CANNOT REMEMBER WHY.
- medieval costumes. I'm trying to remember why. o_O
- medieval warfare. Partly because some people at uni tried to build a trebuchet. LOL
- horror folktales
- historical mystery fiction

Now:
- Southeast Asian history
- the occasional dose of NINJAS
- random philosophy and psychology books
- European medieval history...
- heraldry...
- (pattern emerging, anyone? XP)

So, the rest of you! Were your reading interests/habits throughout the years Samey-old Samey-old, Total Chaos And I Love It, or This Is An Awesome Intellectual Growth Plan? (As for mine, roomie summed it up in terms totally unfit for print LOL). Cookies and tunes for answering.

• Heading off to Bangkok in about two weeks. Can't be bothered to haul the medium-sized suitcase out of the closet. Ugh, I hate packing.
  
• One of my PS2 memory cards just DIED. Spent - and still spending! - ages to replay some of those games. Much revisited fun over katamari-rolling, taking pictures of ghosts to exorcise them, skulking in the jungle eating snakes, and beating the crap out of THOSE FILTHY GODWIN DEVILS. Especially that last one.
