The board consists of 9x9 cells, and the 3x3 sections separated by thick grids are called local boards. Furthermore, the entire board made up of nine local boards is called a global board.
Stones are struck alternately, and the first person to line up the third row in a straight line on the local board wins that local board, and a large stone is placed in the corresponding global board cell.
