Create Connections Before the Fall

“My favorite part of taking English 105i was the opportunity to meet and collaborate with my peers before the Fall semester began. Thanks to my experience during Summer II, I have created strong connections with multiple peers and an exceptional professor before I even arrive in the Fall.” — Cooper Deets, Incoming Student

Getting Started in the Summer

Getting started in the summer is a great way to build momentum before fall. Use our recommended course lists to explore classes designed with incoming first-year students in mind and get a head start on your academic goals.

Incoming Transfer Students

If you have been accepted to UNC-Chapel Hill as a transfer student for the upcoming fall semester and wish to attend Summer School, please visit the Undergraduate Admissions Summer School page  for information on next steps and to fill out the enrollment form that allows you to change your start term to Summer. If you have any questions about this enrollment form—including questions about the status of your enrollment change request—please contact Admissions at 919-966-3621 or unchelp@admissions.unc.edu

Once you have completed this process, you will be activated for summer enrollment, and you will receive an email with the name and contact information of an academic advisor who can assist you with questions about summer courses, drop or withdrawal deadlines, or other issues related to classes.

Please note that incoming transfer students can take courses during Maymester, Summer Session I, or Summer Session II.
