Um… fantasy, I think. But cross-genres between the three are good also. It always depends on the story, I guess.

Paperback. I have a few hardbacks, too, but I only buy those if I know the novel is definitely worth the money – as with grrm ’s books. *cheers George*

Neither, darling. My sorting is unique.
Well… maybe not unique. I sort by liking and not liking. But I keep all the novels of one author together.

Buying choice: Book Reviews, Recommendation or Browse?
Depends on whether I know the author or not. If I know the author, I browse. If not, I go by review or recommendation.

Lewis or Tolkien?
Tolkien, I guess.

Collection (short stories by the same author) or Anthology (short stories by different authors)?
Neither, actually. If I read short stories, I read random stories by random people from random places. I’ve never bought a Collection, nor have I ever bought an Anthology.

Tidy ending or Cliffhanger?
I don’t mind cliffhangers at the end of chapters (as long as this doesn’t happen too often. But books should end tidily, imo. Especially if it takes the author years to get the next book published.

Morning reading, Afternoon reading or Nighttime reading?
I’m a night-reader most of the time. As a mother, I seldom have the time to read during the day.

Standalone or Series?
Depends on the novels, actually. A standalone can have its charms, and a series can suck ass. *raises eyebrow at Terry Goodkind’s books*

New or used?
I prefer new books. I always wonder who’s been picking their nose and touching the pages when I buy used books. And besides. I like the smell of new books… most of the time.

Favorite book of which nobody else has heard?
Of which nobody else has heard? I don’t know what other people have heard of or not.
A series I’ve never heard mention of at LJ is “Tales of the Otori” by Lean Hearn.

Top 5 favorite genre books of all time?
A Game of Thrones, A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords, A Feast for Crows, all by grrm . And Outlander by Diana Gabaldon (though I love her whole series, too.) Just to name the top five.
