SubtitleNEXT originated back in 1990 as a DOS Software programme, initially called “Subtitle”. Using standard PC components to create, edit and air (burn subtitles over video signal), it was unique as the only package of its type at the time.
The “SubtitlePlus “ version for Windows soon followed providing a file-based workflow in its infrastructure – one of the first in the subtitling world and most definitely the only system to offer a mixed environment for both tape-based and file-based pipelines.
Spanning over a decade from 2004 – 2014, “SubtitlePlus” was fine-tuned with broadcast-related features. It continued to advance into a viable product with the development of the multi-channel, multi-language automated subtitle airing platform called the “DVB Subtitle Server” which in turn, then evolved into “SubtitleNEXT Central”.
In 2014, software developer Kamen Ferdinandov established his company Profuz Digital, together with PBT EU’s CEO Ivanka Vassileva with an R&D Centre based in Bulgaria’s capital city Sofia.
Profuz Digital was created as a vibrant hub of technical innovation where business and technologies merge in order to provide innovative software solutions to a dynamic media and entertainment industry. Profuz Digital has emerged into specialist firm fully dedicated to providing customised user-friendly and cost-effective solutions that mould to the customer’s needs, with “round-the-clock” technical support.
The year 2016 marked the SubtitleNEXT brand being established as we know it today. Profuz Digital was in a position to offer together with its main partner and distributor PBT EU, an entire product line which included a whole range of products – SubtitleNEXT Novice, SubtitleNEXT Explorer, SubtitleNEXT Expert, SubtitleNEXT CENTRAL, SubtitleNEXT Air, SubtitleNEXT LIVE Manager, and NEXT-TT. These were different products but still based on the core LAPIS and/or SubtitleNEXT technology software platforms.
Although the “Subtitle” platform of the 1990s is not exactly the same product that we now see today on the market, SubtitleNEXT has been masterfully refined into the fully-fledged sophisticated renewed versions that are now available and used by many organisations around the world.
Always, customer-focused from the start, the creator’s goals have always behind helping the brand move to the next level. This evolution eventually led to the present day SubtitleNEXT and NEXT-TT platforms and continues to grow to suit customer needs over time.
