Working together with the Teaching Enhancement and Mentoring Program (TEMP), the Dale P. Latimer Library provides an online Teaching Resource Center for the Faculty at Saint Vincent College.

The Teaching Resource Center is an area where faculty can look up ideas for addressing specific topics in teaching. Located here are resources held within the Library regarding teaching and learning, as well as web-based and other resources that may be useful.

On the left hand side of the page, you will find different topics related to teaching. Within each topic, there are different resource types that you will find.

Click through the tabs here to learn about the different resource types.

Library Books

In the sections labeled Library Books, you will find lists of books that are available within the Dale P. Latimer Library Collection. Some of these may be physical books that must be checked out from the Library. The list of physical items may include Reference Items, as well as circulating items. Others may be electronic books that are available through the EBSCO E-Book Collection. You can tell whether the item is a physical book or electronic book based on what you see in the "Call Number" section. Physical Books will have the call number used to located them within the stacks, where electronic books will say "eBook."

Clicking the title of the item will take you to its catalog page. For physical items, you can request the item to pick up at the Circulation Desk. For electronic books, you will have the option to view the PDF Full Text of the book.

Web-Based Resources

In the sections labeled Web-Based Resources, you will find lists of websites that pertain to that specific topic. These sources are from the internet and are free. The Library does not subscribe to these resources.

Podcasts

A podcast is "a digital audio file made available on the internet for downloading to a computer or mobile device, typically available as a series, new installments of which can be received by subscribers automatically" (Oxford Languages).

In the sections labeled Podcasts, you will find podcasts that relate to that specific topic. The podcasts may have an option for you to play and listen to episodes within a browser. You may also have to access the podcast via another platform, such as Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, iHeartRadio, Spotify, Stitcher, or wherever you listen to podcasts.

Blogs

Blogs are "regularly updated websites or webpages, typically run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style" (Oxford Languages).

In the sections labeled Blogs, you will find blogs that pertain to that specific topic. The links will take you to the blogs where you can then read about different topics in education.
