Dr. Rachel (Ruocun) Liu is a graduate of the University of Alberta Doctor of Dental Surgery Program. She strives to provide patient-centred, comprehensive dental care and to educate patients about the importance of oral health as a factor in overall health.
She always takes the time to explain treatments to patients and her goal is for each patient to have the best possible dental care experience.
Dr. Liu is completing continuing education in lnvisalign and neuromodulator (Botox) administration to better accommodate patient needs. She understands that dental appointments can be a source of anxiety for many patients and tries her best to help patients feel more comfortable in the dental chair, which includes offering nitrous oxide sedation.
Dr. Liu is passionate about serving the community. In the past, she has been very involved with Shine Dentistry and Access for All Dentistry, both of which are programs that aim to provide free dental treatment to patient populations with limited access to care.
Dr. Liu has been an Edmontonian for most of her life and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Liu loves spending her time with her friends and family, as well as practicing her art of Chinese dance. She enjoys reading, doing puzzles, and searching for the best spots in Edmonton for noodles, sushi, and other tasty treats.
Dr. Maher Ayash completed his undergraduate studies in Biomedical Sciences at York University in Toronto before earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Sydney, Australia.
He has pursued extensive continuing education and holds certifications in oral sedation, nitrous sedation, sleep dentistry, aesthetic and TMJ-related Botox treatments, dental implants, and clear aligner therapy, including Invisalign.
Dr. Ayash provides comprehensive dental care for patients of all ages, with particular interests in cosmetic dentistry, smile makeovers, children’s dentistry, and full-scope treatment planning. He is known for his gentle, detail-oriented, and confident approach, and takes pride in helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and genuinely cared for throughout their treatment.
He has a special interest in working with nervous and anxious patients, and understands that a positive dental experience can make all the difference. Dr. Ayash believes in creating an environment where patients feel at ease, never judged, and fully informed about their care. He also greatly enjoys working with children and helping them build positive, healthy relationships with dentistry from an early age.
For Dr. Ayash, dentistry is a unique profession that combines science, precision, artistry, and human connection. He has always been drawn to working with his hands and helping people feel more confident in their smiles. He believes that a smile says a great deal about a person and should reflect both health and confidence.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Ayash is a lifelong learner with a strong interest in technology, teaching, fitness, travel, and nature. He is passionate about continuing to grow both personally and professionally, always looking for new ways to improve the patient experience and the quality of care he provides.
Dr. Cody Smith graduated from the University of Alberta, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. He then enrolled in the U of A Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry where he was awarded his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) Degree in 2017.
Dr. Smith has completed advanced surgical training in Dental Implants, wisdom teeth extractions, and intravenous (IV) sedation. Born in Alberta, but moving to Whitehorse, Yukon at a young age, Dr. Smith loves spending time outdoors regardless of the weather.
When he’s not practicing dentistry you can find him mountain biking in the summer or snowboarding in the winter. Dr. Smith is also an avid traveller and is always up for an adventure! Feel free to ask him about any of his travels.
Simran graduated from The Toronto College of Dental Hygiene in 2017, obtaining her dental hygiene diploma. Simran prides herself in providing the utmost dental care tailored to the needs of each and every one of her patients.
Her passion for the dental profession stemmed from a young age when she had gotten braces and realized she just loved teeth! The ability to build relationships with her patients and provide them with the quality of care they deserve is something she strives for and ensuring each and every patient leaves her chair with nothing less than a smile on their faces. Outside of work, Simran is a sports enthusiast. She plays soccer, loves to watch football and enjoys writing poetry in her spare time. She also enjoys travelling and spending time with her family.
Michelle grew up in Southern AB. She moved to Edmonton to attend the University of Alberta and graduated from the dental hygiene program in 2004. She has many years of experience, loves working as a dental hygienist and values her skill to provide optimal care to each individual.
She considers oral health to be very important and strives to help all of her patients achieve this. Outside of work you will find her cheering on her boys at their many sports. She appears calm and collected but has a competitive streak bursting within her. She loves escaping to the mountains to snowboard, hike, bike or just being outdoors soaking in the fresh air. She does not consider herself a master chef but has perfected butter chicken and lasagna! At the end of most busy days, you will find her relaxing in the sauna and then rehydrating with a frosted lemonade.
Shannon is a born and raised in Edmontonian. Before joining the Stringham team in 2020, she worked for 15 years as a registered dental assistant. She has always had a passion for beautiful and healthy smiles and loves to be a part of helping people achieve their dental goals.
She strives for perfection and loves jokes. Outside of work, she loves being a mom to her two quickly growing children and miniature schnauzer, spending time at the lake; swimming, surfing, paddle boarding and listening to country music as well as always trying to escape to a beach to find the sun and hot weather!
Samantha is a NAIT dental assistant graduate originally from Drayton Valley, Alberta. Before settling in Edmonton, she lived in California and Vancouver where she danced professionally. She strives to bring excellent patient care and a light-hearted, joke-filled atmosphere to work.
When not at work she enjoys travelling, cooking, and indulging in her affection for cows. But what she loves most is spending time with those closest to her, golfing, going to concerts and riding her new motorcycle.
Allissa grew up in Edmonton, Alberta and graduated from the University of Alberta in 2022 with a dental hygiene bachelor’s degree. Allissa found her passion for dental hygiene after working as a lash artist.
She realized that her love for detail-oriented work and building relationships with people could be fostered in the dental field. In her spare time, she enjoys crocheting and going to the gym. She’s also a travel enthusiast and recently hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
