I started building this straw bale studio in June 2019. Progress was halted in 2020 due to Covid.

The building design is

• Not square, to reflect sounds better and avoid standing waves
• Well insulated to stay warm and also to isolate sounds from outside
• Uses natural and local materials to be kind to the environment

The intention with this space is to create a lively natural sounding room, not too dry, but with controlled reverb.

The building was “finished” in about April 2025, as much as these things are ever finished.
